Service Description

This class helps students grasp what is needed of them when writing their transactional Section B writing for their English Language Paper 2 exam. Each session will have a 20 minute annotations exercise, helping students note the important techniques needed in each text type. Then students are invited to practice their own writing approach under timed conditions. Students will watch Hollyann highlighting various desirable language devices before practicing applying them in their own work. Session 1 - Speeches Using a sample, we will focus on the language devices needed and common in speeches. Students will then be given the opportunity to practice their own speech, based on an exam style question. Session 2 - Letters Using a sample, we will focus on the language devices needed and common in letters. Students will then be given the opportunity to practice their own speech, based on an exam style question. Session 3 - Articles Using a sample, we will focus on the language devices needed and common in articles. Students will then be given the opportunity to practice their own speech, based on an exam style question. Session 4 Using a sample, we will focus on the language devices needed and common in leaflets. Students will then be given the opportunity to practice their own speech, based on an exam style question.
